Wes Anderson’s “Let’s Write” campaign sets tone for product debuts in Milan
Montblanc’s Spring/Summer 2026 collections debuted at Milan’s Salone dei Tessuti in a carefully constructed world of symmetry, color, and craft. Infused with the cinematic whimsy of Wes Anderson, whose artistic language guided both the visual direction and accompanying “Let’s Write” campaign, the unveiling blended storytelling with tangible luxury.
The campaign, directed by Anderson and starring Michael Cera, Rupert Friend, Esther McGregor, and Waris Ahluwalia, served as a tonal blueprint for the collections. Vibrant citrus hues and grounded earth tones are featured throughout new silhouettes in the Leather Goods line, from folded-letter-inspired backpacks to lightweight weekenders and water-repellent garment bags, each piece straddling the border between daily functionality and design fantasy.
In tandem, the “Art of the Desk” collection revisits Montblanc’s legacy through refillable notebook holders, pen pouches, and coffrets rendered in corteccia, grain, and saffiano leathers. These pieces celebrate intentionality, offering tactile structure to the workspace while nodding to Maison’s writing heritage.
The Milan showroom installation, a collaboration with Edinas Paper, Ermes Ponti, and Montblanc’s Retail Design team, offered an immersive look at the process behind the product. Visitors explored dedicated rooms highlighting paper ephemera, 3D campaign postcards, and tools and sketches from the design atelier, transforming a product launch into a reverent study of craft.
With Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta’s vision at the helm, Montblanc continues to elevate the intersection of design, storytelling, and utility. The Spring/Summer 2026 collections will be rolled out in three waves, from January to April 2026, both online and in select Montblanc boutiques.
