Review of Antonio Marras Fall 2025 Ad Campaign by Photographer Eric Michael Roy with Sharon Stone and Gabriel Aubry
Antonio Marras leans into narrative once again with his Fall 2025 campaign, starring Sharon Stone and photographed by Eric Michael Roy. Set in the Sardinian port city of Alghero, the campaign is more than just a backdrop of Mediterranean beauty—it’s the stage for a quiet, cinematic story of love, waiting, and return.

Stone plays a woman suspended in emotional limbo, wandering Alghero’s old town in search of someone—“the person who is returning, the person she loves.” Her gaze stretches toward the horizon as a lone rowboat inches toward shore. The campaign is rich in mood and stillness, where every stone wall and gust of wind seems to carry the weight of memory.
The wardrobe mirrors this wistful drama. A Prince of Wales suit with wide-legged trousers and a crisp bow blouse lends tailored precision, softened by a parka painted with Marras’ signature roses. His familiar hand motifs appear across garments and accessories, drawn directly by the designer, and act as symbols of both connection and protection. A fur coat with red-nailed hands, an oversized tuxedo with fluttering ruffles, and intricately embellished outerwear extend his visual language into emotional terrain.
Marras explains the casting with poetic conviction:
I was looking for a woman who could interpret the spirit of Antonio Marras and those values that are so important to us: memory, roots, nature… In Sharon I found someone in a league of her own, who was able to portray exactly what I meant.
– Antonio Marras
Stone delivers not just poise but presence—more than a fashion figurehead, she becomes a character steeped in longing. Even when motionless, her gaze holds narrative tension, as if caught between past and present, memory and possibility. The presence of Gabriel Aubry in a few frames hints at resolution but stops short of full reunion. It’s all suggestion, never declaration.

Still, while the story in the press release is beautifully told, it’s only partially realized in the imagery. The campaign gestures toward a love story, but never quite completes it—evoking atmosphere more than narrative progression. A short film or cinematic extension could have added the missing emotional punctuation.
That said, the tone is distinctively Marras: heartfelt, slightly surreal, and anchored in a deep love for place. With Sharon Stone as both muse and medium, the campaign becomes a reflection on what it means to wait, to hope, and to remember—clothed in garments that speak the same language.
