Louis Vuitton Brings “Chengdu Chill” Pop-Up to China’s New Cultural Hub

The maison launches a new fragrance trio, city guide, and Chengdu-inspired menu

Louis Vuitton expands its cultural footprint in China with “Chengdu Chill,” a multi-sensory pop-up experience that merges retail, fragrance, and gastronomy. Following similar activations in Shanghai and Beijing, the brand’s latest concept celebrates the launch of the Louis Vuitton Chengdu City Guide and spotlights the region’s rich heritage through design, scent, and cuisine.

The pop-up, located in Regular Park within Chengdu’s Tianfu District, transforms into a contemporary bookstand from October 11 to 22, featuring the new city guide alongside Louis Vuitton publications. Guests can participate in tea tastings, calligraphy workshops, reading sessions, and chef-led masterclasses, some requiring reservations through the brand’s WeChat Mini Program.

Opening night blended traditional artistry and modern performance, with bamboo weaving, sugar painting, and storytelling by Liboqing, alongside a musical performance from Ma Siwei, who created an original track for the house.

Complementing the cultural showcase is a new fragrance collection, “Journey to China,” launching exclusively at Louis Vuitton Maison Taikoo Li Chengdu. Inspired by tea, ink, and the moon, the trio continues the maison’s exploration of Chinese aesthetics under the theme “Beauty of China.”

Louis Vuitton’s Michelin-starred restaurant The Hall also debuts a seasonal menu infused with Chengdu flavors, extending the brand’s narrative of craftsmanship into the culinary realm.

Originally introduced two years ago with guest editor Liu Jiakun, the Chengdu City Guide will be available as a free digital edition until November 13. “Chengdu Chill” follows the brand’s previous Chinese cultural activations, “Nóng Hó, Shanghai” in 2023 and “Beijing Fun” in 2024, reinforcing Louis Vuitton’s ongoing dialogue between local culture and global luxury.
