Giovanni Perosino joins from Maserati as Kering deepens its recruitment of automotive veterans to steer Gucci’s next phase
Gucci has appointed Giovanni Perosino senior vice president of marketing, extending a leadership realignment that increasingly draws from the automotive sector. Perosino, who joins on December 15, most recently served as global chief marketing officer at Maserati and brings more than two decades of experience across brand strategy, communications, and global market development.

Perosino’s remit places him at the center of Gucci’s marketing and communications architecture, reporting to chief client, marketing, and commercial officer Dario Gargiulo. His appointment adds further momentum to the structural reset taking shape under Francesca Bellettini, Gucci’s president and chief executive officer, and artistic director Demna. Gargiulo’s arrival and recent executive departures—including Valérie Leberichel and Maria Cristina Lomanto—signal a streamlined leadership model with sharper functional delineation.
The house has seen a notable influx of automotive expertise. Alongside Perosino, Gucci recently hired Gianluca De Ficchy as chief financial officer. De Ficchy, who previously led Mobilize within the Renault Group, joins new Kering CEO Luca de Meo—himself a veteran of Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Seat—in bringing operational rigor and transformation experience from a sector recognized for precision, systems thinking, and global supply-chain complexity.
These shifts unfold as Gucci continues its turnaround, with Bellettini and Demna working to reframe the house’s creative, commercial, and operational engines. Perosino’s background at Maserati, Audi, Lamborghini, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, and ITA Airways positions him to influence how Gucci reasserts its brand narrative and reconnects with a global luxury audience that prizes coherence, desirability, and strategic clarity.
The accumulation of cross-industry talent suggests a deliberate pattern: Kering is betting that the disciplines honed in automotive leadership—efficiency, consumer-centric innovation, and coordinated global marketing—can help drive Gucci’s next chapter of growth.
