The Top 50 Shoes of Spring 2019

There are plenty of houses for which the runways shows are but a simple excuse to showcase their accessories. Skim any luxury holding companies annual report and one will quickly discover that while most of the marketing is around ready-to-wear, the accessories are what really supports the house. More often than not up to 80% of the sales are generated from handbags and shoes.

This season saw the return of the heel as the tide of sneakers receded to make way for a myriad of heel heights, and closed toes looks. Designers had sharpness on their minds as pointed toe looks took to the catwalk at Clare Waight Keller’s Givenchy and Sarah Burton’s Alexander McQueen.

Nicholas Kirkwood won our most innovative footwear of the season with his luminescent heels, while Riccardo Tisci’s modernized Burberry red sock lined heels are our most coveted shoe of the season.

Of course Miu Miu, Prada, Tom Ford, Dior, Valentino and Louis Vuitton continue to dominate the footwear scene and with good reason as one can see from below.

Here our The Impression’s picks for the Top 50 Shoes of Spring 2019.
