Acne Studios Spring 2025 Men’s Collection (June 2024).
Acne Studios, known as a safe haven for fashion’s unconventional thinkers, unveiled a spring collection that captures the essence of teenage obsessions. Jonny Johansson’s latest line was all about using clothing to portray oneself as a superhero, daring to be different in a world of conformity.
Choreographer Jordan Robson showcased the collection in the look book, effortlessly moving between baggy pants and flimsy miniskirts, embodying the essence of the youthful spirit infused in the designs. Johansson emphasized that it’s not just about superhero clothing, but rather the attitude that one exudes.
While many brands gravitated towards classic tailoring and conservative styles this season, Acne Studios remained steadfast in their commitment to taking risks. Johansson drew inspiration from the evolving landscape of men’s fashion, highlighting the revolution that has shattered traditional gender norms.
As the fashion world embraces this new era of limitless possibilities, Acne Studios pushed boundaries with daring combinations like printed skivvies paired with see-through trench coats or suit jackets styled with cycling shorts. Collaborations with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products introduced DC Comics heroines into the mix, appealing to fashionistas and comic enthusiasts alike.
The collection was unveiled at Acne’s newly-minted headquarters in Paris, a unique blend of old-world charm and modern innovation. The grandeur of a 19th-century mansion merged seamlessly with the rawness of a former pharmaceutical laboratory, now serving as the brand’s showroom.
Despite the ongoing renovations at the headquarters, Johansson’s bold vision was already evident, with a phallic pink sculpture adorning the reception area. With a centralized space for the women’s design team and other staff, Acne Studios now has a Batcave of its own, symbolizing a new chapter in the brand’s evolution.
