Acne Studios Announces the Opening of Acne Paper Palais Royal in Paris

Acne Studios Turns Paris Storefront into Standalone Art Gallery

New Cultural Space Launches with Solo Exhibition by Paul Kooiker

Acne Paper, a publication by Acne Studios, will be transforming their storefront inside the Gardens of Palais Royal into a standalone art gallery, set to open to the public on June 26. Acne Paper Palais Royal will host a solo exhibition by Paul Kooiker, featuring forty-two portraits of international students at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Kooiker is a highly acclaimed photographer whose work this past year has appeared in New York Magazine, Diesel’s FW24 campaign, and Acne Paper Issue 20.

Kooiker’s dynamic, cinematic, images set the tone for Acne’s new space. Acne Studios prides itself on being not only a fashion house, but also a champion of photography, film, art, and design, positioning themselves at the intersection of heritage and innovation. Acne Paper Palais Royal will be a space where this narrative continues to gain traction. It will serve as a hub for dialogue around art, design, photography, publishing, and craftsmanship. Acne Studios plans to use the space for upcoming exhibitions, artist talks, magazine launches, book signings, and cultural events.

Acne Paper began in 2005. After a pause in publication from 2014 to 2021, the paper has steadily ramped back up. In the age of digital media, print is slowly making its return to the scene. Its appeal lies in its nostalgia and sense of “maturity”. With the opening of this new space, Acne Studios is cultivating a community rooted in creativity, innovation, and art, centered around their publication.

Acne Studios is establishing itself not only as a fashion house but as a cultural protagonist, committed to fostering a world where art, fashion, and creativity work in unison.
