Celebrating Fashion, Art, and Conviviality on New Bond Street
Alaïa has announced the opening of a new bookstore and café on the second floor of its flagship store on New Bond Street, London. The additions reflect the Maison’s commitment to cultural exchange and creating inviting spaces for its visitors.
The bookstore, curated in collaboration with London’s Claire de Rouen, offers a collection of signed and rare books focusing on photography, fashion, and art. A cornerstone of London’s literary scene, Claire de Rouen’s involvement brings a carefully curated selection that highlights the intersection of art and fashion, in line with Alaïa’s creative values.
The café, operated by Violet Cakes, will provide a space for visitors to relax and connect. Led by chef-owner Claire Ptak, Violet Cakes is renowned for its seasonal offerings inspired by a blend of California and British influences. Known internationally for its thoughtful approach to baking, Violet Cakes brings a culinary sensibility informed by art and fashion to the new space.
“This café, much like its counterpart in our Paris boutique, is a place for dialogue and discovery,” Alaïa shared in a statement. “It reflects the warmth and familial connection that are central to the Maison’s heritage.”
The opening marks a significant expansion for the Alaïa London flagship, reinforcing the brand’s dedication to fostering creativity and connection across fashion, art, and hosting. The addition complements the Maison’s larger goal of offering immersive environments that go beyond retail.
