New SoHo Location Marks Next Phase in Brand Expansion Under Oniverse Ownership
Antonio Marras has opened his first international flagship store in New York City, selecting Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood as the location for this next step in the brand’s global retail strategy.

Located at 121 Wooster Street, the space totals over 7,500 square feet, with 4,300 square feet allocated to retail. The soft opening took place on July 19, with an official launch planned for September 12 to coincide with New York Fashion Week.

The Sardinian designer has longstanding ties to New York, and the store design incorporates references to his origins. Interiors include a mix of furnishings brought from Sardinia and pieces sourced locally. The building, which previously housed Woolrich and sits near Jacquemus, retains original elements such as brick walls, tile ceilings, and cement grit floors—all restored during the renovation.
The entrance features a tribute to Sardinian artist Maria Lai, with a handmade installation by Marras using ceramic, wood, and rope, referencing traditional weaving techniques. A skylight in the space led to the creation of a greenhouse-inspired section, furnished with Baroque and Neoclassical elements, carpets, and a large chandelier. Myrtle plants in ceramic pots are placed throughout, nodding to the designer’s heritage.

The interior also includes pieces by 20th-century Italian designers, such as a Carlos Mollino table and a Camaleonda sofa by Mario Bellini. Marras incorporated repurposed items like hotel radiators and a church banister from an Italian flea market as product displays. The store’s windows were emphasized in the layout, framed by Sardinian textiles and Versailles-patterned wallpaper.
Roughly 30 percent of Marras’s customer base is American, which played a role in the decision to open in New York. The brand is part of the Oniverse portfolio, formerly known as Gruppo Calzedonia, which acquired a majority stake in 2022. Oniverse, led by founder Sandro Veronesi, reported €3.5 billion in 2024 sales, a 13.5 percent increase from the previous year. Export revenue totaled €2.2 billion.
The Oniverse portfolio includes Calzedonia, Intimissimi, Intimissimi Uomo, Tezenis, Falconeri, Atelier Emé, Signorvino, Oniwines, and Cantiere del Pardo, the latter producing Grand Soleil, Pardo, and Van Dutch yachts.
Though Oniverse does not break out sales by brand, Antonio Marras posted a 66 percent increase in year-over-year revenue for the first half of 2025.

Earlier this year, during Milan Design Week, the label opened a temporary concept space on Via Montenapoleone. The pop-up will remain for roughly one year, after which a permanent flagship is scheduled to open on the same street. Marras currently operates boutiques in Turin, Florence, Rome, Venice, Forte dei Marmi, Alghero, Verona, Porto Cervo, and Bari. Until recently, the business focused primarily on wholesale.
In September 2023, Barbara Calò—formerly CEO of Marni—was named CEO of Antonio Marras following its integration into the Oniverse group.
