Fashion brand names industry veteran to lead creative direction
Area has announced the appointment of Nicholas Aburn as its new Creative Director. Aburn, who will officially join the company in March, is set to debut his first collection for the brand in the Spring/Summer 2026 season.
Aburn, originally from Maryland, studied at Central Saint Martins in London before launching his career at Tom Ford. He later held the role of Senior Womenswear Designer at Alexander Wang in New York and most recently worked as Senior Designer at Balenciaga Couture.
“Area is proud to welcome Nicholas Aburn as our new Creative Director. His vision for the brand’s evolution will amplify Area’s resonance and propel us into an exciting new era,” said Beckett Fogg, CEO and Founder of AREA.
Aburn expressed enthusiasm for his new role, emphasizing the influence of New York on his creative approach. “New York has always inspired me with its mix of raw energy and glamour. Area truly embodies this spirit, and I am excited to bring the brand back to its roots,” he said.
With Aburn’s appointment, Area looks to build on its distinctive aesthetic and further establish itself within the global fashion industry.
