A$AP Rocky’s Debut Show at Paris Men’s Fashion Week Critiques America

A$AP Rocky used his debut show at Paris Men’s Fashion Week to deliver a critical message about the United States. His brand, American Sabotage, showcased a collection that dismantled the political and economic structures of the country.

The show, held at Karl Lagerfeld’s former residence, attracted a chaotic crowd eager to catch a glimpse of Rihanna and other celebrity guests. Rihanna filmed the action from her front-row seat, while stars like Maluma and Pusha T. attended the event.

Rocky’s collection featured unconventional designs, such as backless business suits and layered hip-hop style outfits with multiple waistbands. The rapper described the collection as “political satire,” inspired by poverty, mass incarceration, and capitalism.

Notable looks included models carrying garbage bags full of money and outfits embellished with references to American symbols like the flag and Uncle Sam. Rocky drew inspiration from personal experiences, including growing up in a homeless shelter.

The collection also incorporated upcycled and repurposed items like NYPD sweatshirts and DEA baseball caps. Merchandise featuring the brand’s name and collaborations from Alpine Cars, Puma, Ray-Ban, and Shopify were available for purchase.

Rocky’s new album, set to release on Aug. 30, was available for pre-order after the show. The event also previewed the latest tracks while guests enjoyed themed cakes shaped like cocaine kilos and firearms.
