Bel Air Bag Fall 2024 Ad Campaign

Review of Balenciaga Bel Air Bag Fall 2024 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Demna and Photographer Nadav Kander with model Kim Kardashian

Balenciaga continues its portrait series with photographer Nadev Kander investigating the personalities who bring to life its signature bags. This time around, Kim Kardashian steps in front of the camera.

Picking up on the previous Bel Air bag and Characters campaign chapters, Kander captures Kardashian in a bare studio space, putting the focus squarely on her magnetic persona that brings to life Demna’s design vision of oversized opulence.

Executed with a clever one-take format, the accompanying video once again breaks the fourth wall, seeing Kim get up from her chair, walk around the studio and interact with the team, and ultimately make her way back to the spotlight, never missing a beat as she instantly regains her photo-worthy poise.

The campaign embodies a clever take on the marketing game of constants and variables. While the simple and unchanging visual format instantly relocates us in the starkly stylish world of Balenciaga, the impressive rotating cast and intuitive approach to styling that feels idiosyncratically cool gives us something new to sink our teeth into each time, holding our attention – especially coupled with the fast-paced release rhythm – while emphasizing the versatility of the star accessories.
