The Former Beauty Exec Joins as the Brand Prepares to Launch into the Beauty Category
Balmain has announced the appointment of Bruna Scognamiglio as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Scognamiglio is no stranger to the fashion and beauty industry, having worked for over 20 years with celebrated brands including Procter & Gamble and Ferragamo. Her joining the team is the latest in a line of management reshuffles aimed at propelling Balmain to greater growth.
Scognamiglio will be reporting directly to Matteo Sgarbossa, Balmain’s recently appointed Chief Executive Officer. Her tenure begins on September 9.
Balmain outlined Scognagmilio’s role as overseeing all facets of the company’s global marketing strategies, along with providing direction for the brand’s global image and communications. This key responsibility will aid in bolstering Balmain’s future ambitions.
Scognamaglio succeeds Txampi Diz, who left the position in March after a 17-year association with the brand. She was initially with PR firm KCD, later moving in-house to serve as Chief Marketing Officer since 2017.
Prior to her new role, Scognamiglio held a range of positions over a span of five years at Ferragamo, climbing the ranks to the position of global brand and marketing director.
Earlier in her career, the Italian executive played pivotal roles at Tod’s Group as the head of digital communication and at Coty as the vice president global PR and influencer marketing for Gucci Beauty.
She launched her career at Procter & Gamble working in a series of roles including communications manager for Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci, and associate director of communications for its prestige unit before the Specialty Beauty Business merged into Coty.
Her comprehensive background in both fashion and beauty will serve as an asset to Balmain’s future expansion approach, especially with the brand’s preparations to enter the beauty industry this fall under a licensing agreement with Estée Lauder Cos. Inc.
