Spring 2024 Ad Campaign

Review of Balmain Spring 2024 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Olivier Rousteing with Photographer Rafael Pavarotti with model Gisele Bündchen

Gisele Bündchen is a goddess of springtime in the latest campaign from Balmain. The model was captured in a series of vivid portraits by photographer Rafael Pavarotti.

The campaign highlights a series of dresses from creative director Olivier Rousteing’s Spring 2024 collection that boldly draw on the motif of the rose. While this flower is obviously a classic symbol of feminine beauty and the dualism of delicateness and danger, it also has a closer affinity with the house’s heritage.

I’ve always been impressed with Olivier’s unique gift for creating exquisite collections and working with him on the Balmain Spring-Summer 2024 campaign was a special experience for me. Olivier and I looked to Pierre Balmain’s gardens as one of our chief sources of inspiration, as they embody the concepts of heritage, femininity, and elegance that we wanted to communicate through these images.”

– Rafael Pavarotti

Pavarotti’s vibrant portraits opt for maximum glamor and color. Gisele poses with statuesque power and poise before brightly colored backdrops, her blonde curls cascading in the breeze with a look that updates a nostalgic nod to the beauty looks that might have been seen in Pierre Balmain’s salon. The dresses she wears command attention, and every other aspect of the portraits works to do the same.

Brightly synthesizing. nostalgic references with a bodacious supermodel attitude, the campaign is a vivid statement of Olivier Rousteing’s and Balmain’s signature vision of maximal glamor.
