Top 10 Fashion Ad Campaign Films of Fall 2020

The Best Fashion Ad Campaigns Films/Videos of the Fall 2020 Season as chosen by Kenneth Richard

Many of our Top 10 lists end up consisting of campaigns that share easily identifiable similarities, whether they have related conceptual themes or are responding to certain trends of the season. Our selection of favorite films this fall, however, feels especially eclectic – yet one thing that unites them all is excellent direction.

Fabien Baron continued to impress us with a pair of films for Zara, for their men’s and women’s collections. He married smart and original conceptual work with visuals that pushed the boundaries for cinematic storytelling in fashion marketing.

Versace and Gucci both created films that exhibited a strong awareness of how to leverage the brand’s image. Versace created a well-deserved sequel to a classic campaign from their archives, and Gucci recruited iconically unique talents for a colorful celebration of personality.

Marine Serre dazzled us again with brilliant use of digital animation to raise crucial concerns about humanity’s future. Lanvin was part of our favorite collaboration this year: the first-of-its-kind team-up between the Parisian maison and ballroom’s House of Xclusive Lanvin delivered a gorgeous and musical celebration of self-expression and queer culture. These two films in particular opened our eyes even more to the transformative possibilities of film within the industry.

Here are The Impression’s Top 10 Fashion Ad Campaign Films of Fall 2020 as selected by Chief Impressionist Kenneth Richard.
