Natasha Lyonne brings colorful energy to the latest campaign from Bimba Y Lola. The actor and star of Netflix’s popular Russian Doll was captured by photographer Petra Collins for the Spanish design collective’s Fall 2022 campaign.
The collection is inspired by on-the-road classics of American cinema, which the brand has, in its own words, “Bimbylolized.” Colorful prints and textures adorn Americana classics that are equally ready for a night on the town or a daytime adventure.
With her distinct personality and penchant for embodying larger-than-life characters in her acting work, Lyonne is a great pick for a campaign that embodies this cinematic spirit. Captured on film, Collins’ imagery develops the great-American-road-trip theme as she captures the star at a rundown gas station along a desert highway, where the pastels of a post-sunset sky dreamily enhance the colors of the collection, or in a wood-paneled motel room that offers a moment of rest – though Lyonne never takes a break from looking cool. Visible film borders on the photographs push the aesthetic of a blurred line between cinema and reality.
Wisely casting a relatable, beloved, and talented new star to embody Bimba Y Lola’s distinctly playful brand of accessible luxury, and teaming her up with a photographer who has a distinctly cinematic eye, the campaign is an invitation to be the star of wherever you are.
