The Collaboration Draws Elements from the Chinese Film Trilogy and Features a Campaign with Its Stars
To mark the beginning of the Year of the Snake, Boss has launched a special capsule collection in collaboration with the Chinese mythological film trilogy Creation of the Gods. The collection, which blends Eastern mythology with modern fashion, is spotlighted in a campaign featuring actor Li Yunrui, who starred in Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms. The pieces reflect a harmonious blend of cultural heritage and contemporary style, offering a versatile wardrobe for all-day wear.
The collection draws inspiration from traditional Chinese aesthetics, incorporating a striking red and black palette with accents of “Ji Jin” gold, a signature element of the film’s visual design. Custom totem motifs, influenced by Shang and Zhou dynasty bronzeware, are integrated into the BOSS logo and Double-B monogram.
Spanning men’s, women’s, and children’s styles, the collection includes leather varsity jackets, knit cardigans, hoodies, T-shirts, jeans, and more. The designs feature intricate embroidery and prints, with dark gold detailing that echoes the rich hues of ancient bronzeware. The combination of luxurious craftsmanship and modern comfort offers a unique take on traditional themes, making the pieces both wearable and visually striking.
The campaign, led by Li Yunrui alongside model Li Linzi, connects seamlessly with the themes of the Creation of the Gods trilogy. Shot at the Dolby Auditorium in the Shanghai Film Art Center, where the film’s Shanghai premiere was held, the campaign portrays a family gathering, symbolizing unity and new beginnings. The visuals intertwine cinematic elements with fashion, reflecting on the past while looking toward the future.
As anticipation builds for Creation of the Gods II, set to release on January 29, 2025, during the Spring Festival, the collaboration between Boss and the trilogy highlights the intersection of mythology, culture, and modern fashion.
