Review of Bottega Veneta Pre-Spring 2025 Ad Campaign by Matthieu Blazy with Photographers Louise & Maria Thornfeldt with models Hedi Ben Tekaya, Lina Zhang, Mohammed Banze, Morena Grasso, Sophia Makibdji, Tommaso Zana
Bottega Veneta continues its minimal mastery of craft communication with its Pre-Spring 2025 campaign, captured by photography sister duo Louise and Maria Thornfeldt.
The imagery takes a similar approach to the brand’s Pre-Fall 2024 campaign, repurposing the collection’s carefully crafted lookbook as a campaign through the simple addition of a logo. Not a lot of brands can get away with passing off a lookbook at a campaign, but Matthieu Blazy’s design vision is so rich that each simple portrait feels like a story in itself. Familiar plaids, tweeds, and pinstripes find new life through elegantly voluminous cuts and clever material reconsiderations. Leather accessories evoke a scrumptious textural interplay. Gold jewelry and hardware details create a sinuous sophistication.
Of course, the Thornfedlts’ photographic vision also goes a long way in elevating the impact of the deceptively simple campaign concept. Their shots balance playful angularity and stoic strength, reveling in the rich details while further drawing out the poise of the brand’s community of muses.
Another confirmation of Bottega Veneta’s masterful positioning that both bucks typical fashion marketing conventions (they’re still not on social media) while going right to the heart of relevant fashion communication, the campaign is a simple yet endlessly inviting statement of the brand’s vision of contemporary craft.
