The Artful Event at Dia Beacon Drew Cultural Luminaries and Excellent Outfits
Supported by Bottega Veneta, the Dia Art Foundation celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special event at the Dia Beacon art museum in Beacon, upstate New York. On Saturday, May 11, 2024, more than 550 artists, philanthropists, museum directors, curators, and luminaries from the art, film, and fashion industries gathered at the renowned museum for its Spring Benefit.
The event included tributes to Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Maren Hassinger, Mary Heilmann, Rita McBride, Steve McQueen, and Meg Webster on the occasion of the recent opening of six exhibitions of artists’ work. Guests were among the first to view a new immersive commission by Steve McQueen, titled Bass (2024). Proceeds from the gala support Dia’s innovative programs, including its long-term installations, commissions of ambitious new projects, publications, public lectures and readings, and educational initiatives.
Among the many attendees, those wearing Bottega Veneta included Julianne Moore, Chloë Sevigny, Frances McDormand, Steve McQueen, and more.
