Burberry extends its holiday presence through a pop-up, bespoke bauble and design details across the hotel

This festive season, Daniel Lee has designed the Claridge’s Christmas Tree, reimagining the hotel’s annual tradition with a distinctly British sensibility. The 16-foot tree is embellished with bows made from surplus Burberry fabrics, referencing the Victorian symbol of unity. Wild foliage and thistle, the national flower of Scotland, nod to Burberry’s connection to the Highlands, where its cashmere scarves are produced. The colours and textures are drawn from the landscapes of the United Kingdom, bringing an outdoor spirit into Claridge’s lobby.
Brass bells inspired by Burberry’s Equestrian Knight Design hang throughout the tree, alongside hand-blown baubles crafted by a British glassblower. A gold crown tops the structure, while the base is arranged with oversized chess pieces, soft cushions and blankets to create a grounded, inviting scene. The tree continues the hotel’s long-standing status as a seasonal landmark for London and visiting guests.
Burberry’s presence extends beyond the tree. Throughout the season, Claridge’s showcases subtle brand details, from doormen wearing Burberry Check scarves to redesigned lift interiors featuring checked upholstery. The pattern appears on room key holders, and in Claridge’s Bar guests can order a dedicated Burberry cocktail. Confectionery trolleys offer sweets wrapped in check cones to add a festive touch.

A limited-edition bauble crafted for the occasion depicts the Claridge’s Bell Boy Teddy Bear dressed in a Burberry trench and scarf. Only 300 hand-painted pieces will be produced, available within the hotel’s shop.
Burberry has also created a pop-up on the ground floor, presenting outerwear and scarves that echo the themes of the lobby’s Christmas tree. The Scarf Bar showcases soft accessories and highlights the heritage behind the brand’s designs. A curated selection of cashmere and silk scarves appears in a range of colours, patterns and Burberry Check variations. Additional products are displayed with gifting in mind, including seasonal outerwear, knitwear, rainwear, bags and small leather goods. The installation continues into a dedicated window display beside the hotel entrance. The pop-up will remain open at Claridge’s, Brook Street, Mayfair, London, until 4 January 2026.
