Chanel Launches Arts & Culture Magazine

250-page print publication explores five years of creative partnerships

Chanel continues celebrating its centenary in the U.K. with the launch of its new publication, Arts & Culture Magazine, led by the French brand’s Culture Fund and president of arts, culture, and heritage Yana Peel.

Arts & Culture will revisit the brand’s work with artists and cultural institutions in the last five years. Spanning 250 pages of differing paper types, the magazine will include insights on the future of fashion and culture from collaborating creatives.

More than a one-off event, the launch of Arts & Culture Magazine is part of the house’s push to support print and bookstores around the world. The first issue, Vol.1, will be published in English and sold in 20 bookstores nearwide, with locations in Amsterdam, Bangalore, Bangkok, Berlin, Glasgow, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Milan, New York, Paris, São Paulo, Seoul, Shanghai, Sydney, Taipei, Tokyo and Zurich. In U.K. markets, it will be carried by Foreign Exchange News, whTenderbooks, Rococo News & Magazines and Reference Point in London and RIPE Mags in Glasgow.

Arts & Culture Magazine is a continuation of previous events celebrating Chanel’s centennial in the U.K., including its recent staging of its Le Train Bleu ballet at the V&A East Storehouse in Stratford. Hopefully, the magazine will continue to offer a similarly tactile and thoughtful extension of the house’s creative legacy beyond the runway.
