Chanel 25 Handbag Spring 2025 Ad Campaign

Review of Chanel 25 Handbag Spring 2025 Ad Campaign by Photographer David Sims and Videographer Gordon von Steiner with model Jennie

Jennie is the new face of the Chanel 25 handbag for the brand’s latest campaign. The K-Pop star was lensed by photographer photographer David Sims with video direction by Gordon von Steiner.

This new installment extends the energy and impact of a previous campaign chapter that starred another pop icon, Dua Lipa. Continuing the spirit of casual confidence and effortless chic, the short film’s narrative follows Jennie through the streets of New York and onto a photography set where, in a self-referential moment, she prepares and poses for the campaign shoot.

Also returning from the previous chapter is the classic 80s track “She Drives Me Crazy” by Fine Young Cannibals. The sunny song provides an uplifting energy as well as an opportunity for the star to show off her renowned vocal chops in an intimate new light.

As it’s no exaggeration to say Jennie is one of the very biggest stars in the world, the smart choice to include her in the campaign needs no explanation. But also noteworthy are the consistency, cohesion, and directness with which this new chapter builds on the previous one. Especially as Chanel is in a transitional period as we await the debut from new creative director Matthieu Blazy, keeping a strong focus on the core offerings of the house is key. With breezy, effortless style and more than a little bit of star power, this campaign does just that.
