The Brand Continues to Back Academy Gold Fellowship for Women to Support Emerging Filmmakers

Chanel is reaffirming its support for the Academy Gold Fellowship for Women for the third consecutive year. The prestigious fellowship is aimed at both American and international filmmakers and provides support through a one-year program focused on mentorship, networking, and financial aid to enhance their careers.

The 2022 fellowship recipients include Raha Amirfazli and Shadi Karamroudi, both of whom will benefit from additional financial support. The fellowship, now in its seventh year, continues to support emerging talents in partnership with Chanel.

In a statement, Academy’s Senior Vice President of Impact and Global Talent Development, Kendra Carter, announced the organization’s satisfaction in backing promising women filmmakers through their career progression. She said,

The Academy is pleased to support talented and emerging women filmmakers as they seek to advance and grow in their careers. Through the Gold Fellowship for Women, we aim to provide meaningful guidance, foster a more inclusive film industry and champion diverse voices. We are deeply grateful to our partner Chanel, whose shared commitment of empowering the next generation of women filmmakers and generous support makes this work possible.”

Amirfazli, an Iranian writer, director, and producer living in New York, is presently studying film and TV production at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She attended Karnameh Film School in Tehran for her acting and filmmaking studies, and also holds a music performance degree from Tehran University of Art and a master’s in dramatic literature from Soore University.
