Courrèges Pop-Up Store in Dizonord

In a unique fusion of music and fashion, the renowned independent record store Dizonord collaborates with the iconic fashion house Courrèges to launch an exclusive pop-up store in Le Marais, Paris. This creative venture, running from January 6th to February 25th, promises to offer a diverse cultural experience blending the worlds of sound, style, and artistic expression.

Dizonord, celebrated for its extensive collection of records, books, and vintage cultural artifacts, is known for its commitment to showcasing a wide range of music, including obscure and underrated genres. The store, founded in Paris’ 18th arrondissement in 2019 by Vincent Privat and Xavier Ehretsmann, quickly gained a reputation as a hub for music enthusiasts and cultural connoisseurs.

The seven-week pop-up store, curated jointly by Dizonord and Nicolas Di Felice, the Creative Director of Courrèges, will exhibit an array of curated objects and a hand-picked musical selection. The focus is on electronic and experimental music, reflecting the innovative spirit of both Dizonord and Courrèges. Additionally, the pop-up will showcase a variety of printed objects encompassing themes such as rave culture, counter-culture, fashion, LGBTQIA+ cultures, and rare books, along with original photographic prints.

Celebrating this collaboration, Courrèges supports the reissue of Julia von Dorpp’s book ‘Ex-Tracts’ featuring English rave flyers and an exclusive re-edition of ‘Bad Boy Zine’. The store will also feature iconic publications like Seana Gavin’s ‘Spiralled’, Vinca Petersen’s ‘No System’ & ‘Future Fantasy’, and Gabber Eleganza’s ‘Archivio’. Complementing these are underground, cross-cultural magazines including ‘Feu’, ‘Viscose’, ‘Trou Noir’, and a collection of ‘Double Magazine’ back issues.

Nicolas Di Felice, a passionate music enthusiast, brings his personal connection to Belgium’s 90s-2000s rave scene into this collaboration. His experiences during this influential era of Breakbeat, EDM, Acid House, and techno are reflected in the project, uniting the Courrèges narrative with his vision of a creative and forward-looking fashion world.

In line with Di Felice’s approach to image-making, the pop-up will also feature photographic works by Courrèges collaborators Spyros Rennt and Cha Gonzalez. Their raw and intimate captures of nightlife and the queer identity will offer visitors an immersive glimpse into the eclectic and vibrant world of Courrèges and Dizonord.

This collaboration between Courrèges and Dizonord in Le Marais is not just a shopping experience; it’s a celebration of culture, music, fashion, and art, promising to be a must-visit destination for all who cherish the fusion of these dynamic worlds.
