Target Announces Collaboration with Diane von Furstenberg

Diane von Furstenberg Launches Collection with Target

One of the Biggest Names with which Target has Collaborated, the DVF Collection Arrives on the Retailer’s 25th Anniversary of Design Partnerships

Target is set to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its design partnerships with an upcoming collaboration with influential designer Diane von Furstenberg. The partnership, announced on Tuesday, will introduce a collection encompassing apparel, accessories, beauty, and home products, all slated to hit nearly 2,000 Target stores next month.

Diane von Furstenberg, renowned for her vibrant printed wrap dresses that became a fashion staple in the 1970s, is partnering with Target alongside her granddaughter and co-chairman of the company, Talita von Furstenberg, to bring their signature styles to a wider audience. The collection will include over 200 products, featuring archival prints and new patterns, including the iconic wrap dress that propelled von Furstenberg to fashion fame.

“We are proud to partner with Target to extend that invitation to even more women who want to experience timeless pieces that bring effortless glamour and empowerment to their everyday lives,” von Furstenberg stated.

The collaboration comes at a strategic time for Target as it seeks to rejuvenate its sales amid a challenging retail landscape. With revenue slipping 4% in the third quarter, the retail giant is looking to inject freshness into its stores, particularly in the apparel category, which has experienced a downturn in sales for over a year.

Target’s approach to apparel has shifted in recent years, focusing more on providing newness and flexibility in price points. The retailer’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, Jill Sando, highlighted the significance of the collaboration with von Furstenberg, noting, “Twenty-five years ago, we really set out on this mission to make aspirational designs affordable, which is what we’re doing with Diane.”

The Diane von Furstenberg for Target collection will offer products at accessible price points, starting as low as $4, with most items under $50. This move aligns with Target’s broader strategy to offer value to its customers while maintaining quality and style.
