Designer Kim Jones And Artist Kaws Celebrate The Year Of The Snake
Dior’s Men’s Artistic Director Kim Jones has again collaborated with renowned artist KAWS, unveiling a menswear collection inspired by the 2025 Year of the Snake. Jones first worked with KAWS in 2018, shortly after joining Dior, debuting his Spring 2019 collection around a striking 33-foot sculpture crafted from pink, black, and white flowers by KAWS. This initial partnership also brought a limited-edition capsule, in which KAWS reimagined Dior’s signature Bee motif across ready-to-wear items and accessories.
Six years later, Jones and KAWS are back with another high-impact collaboration. The latest collection features the Dior name in snake-like forms and includes pastel varsity jackets, quilted coats, red cardigans, button-ups, and track pants. The snake motif is also worked into the Dior “CD” initials across both apparel and accessories, giving this capsule a vibrant yet refined edge.
Footwear options include the B33 and B57 sneakers in new colorways, as well as the B35 NXXT, a chunky shoe inspired by KAWS’ roots in skateboarding and graffiti.
The collection also pays homage to Kaws’ roots as a graffiti artist and skateboarder, pairing some of the outfits with the brand’s new chunky B35 NXXT sneakers, available in colors such as neon yellow and red.
Jones has consistently cultivated the relationship between art and fashion through frequent collaborations with artists, shifting in 2021 to expand his collaborations with celebrities, cultural institutions and other designers.
Besides Kaws, Jones has worked with several renowned artists like Daniel Arsham, Kenny Scharf, Hajime Sorayama, Peter Doig and, most recently, South African master potter Hylton Nel for his spring 2025 collection.
The Dior x KAWS “Year of the Snake” collection will launch on January 2, 2025, available in Dior stores and online.
