Review of Dsquared2 Spring 2025 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Giovanni Bianco and Photographer Andrea Artemisio with models Colin Jones, Nyanderi Deng, Vakare Steputyte, Luka Tesic, Tunji Obembe, Elliot Oomen, Xinyu Feng, Yuval Harel
Dsquared2 debuts a new vision, tapping into the power of ritual and the enigmatic beauty of contrast with its Spring 2025 campaign. The campaign continues the brand’s collaboration with creative director Giovanni Bianco while marking its first partnership with photographer Andrea Artemisio.
Drawing on his signature photographic practice that combines minimalism with a sense of the hyperreal, Artemisio’s portraits squarely on the collection’s vision of poetic softness combined with hard-edged sensuality, and the enigmatic characters who embody it. Within a blank, gray studio space, their statuesque presences seem all the more uncannily human.
But one more visual element complicates the narrative. Three objects appear across the portraits: an apple, a candle, and a rose. In each portrait, the subjects hold one of these mysteriously powerful motifs in one hand, ambiguously pointing toward an open-ended narrative of ritual and romance.
And what is getting dressed each day but a ritual celebration of the body? Exploring the ecstatic tension at the heart of self-expression, Dsquared2 sends another invitation to embrace the beauty of what it means to dress boldly.
