Dunhill explores sophistication, masculinity, and desire in its new Fall 2023 campaign by photographer Luis Alberto Rodriguez.
The campaign achieves an evocative sense of enigmatic refinement through plays of harmony and juxtaposition. Following a principle of dualism, the layout pairs intimate and sophisticated portraits of Dunhill men – debonair, self-assured, and elegantly British – with more unusual still-life photographs of found objects. These range from a Jaguar E-Type to an old-school toy car, a table setting to a bowl of green apples, sets of dice, cufflinks, and more.
Put into conversation with one another, these sets of imagery abstractly point to a narrative of aesthete enjoyment, refined men and the objects of desire that shape them. The accompanying short film pushes the tension inherent in this duality through the use of percussive music and slow zoom, drawing us into a world of confidence and contradiction.
It’s another strong continuation of Dunhill’s approach that combines classic masculine sophistication with enigmatic artistry, celebrating the mystery behind the man.
