Fendace

Pre-Fall 2022 2022 Ad Campaign

Review of Fendace Pre-Fall 2022 Ad Campaign by Creative Directors Ronnie Cooke Newhouse & Karl Bolander Agency House & Holme with Photographer Steven Meisel, Director Alec Maxwell with models Adut Akech, Anok Yai, Imaan Hammam, Naomi Campbell, Kristen McMenamy

Fendace gets its first campaign treatment with the launch of Fendi by Versace. First unveiled on the runway in September, the highly anticipated swap between the two legendary Italian houses is set to release next month. The campaign was created by Fendi’s go-to art directors Ronnie Cooke Newhouse and Karl Bolander alongside iconic fashion photographer Steven Meisel.

Featuring an all-star lineup of models led by the legendary Naomi Campbell, Meisel’s compositions balance boldness and simplicity, drawing their visual impact from the opulent interplay of textures that arises from the very Versace remixing of Fendi codes, which stun when set off against a black studio backdrop.

The accompanying film sees Campbell play a bouncer for the exclusive Fendace nightclub, which the rest of the cast is just dying to get into. Luckily, the password is pretty easy to remember.

With slick and bold visuals, an impressive cast, and a fun narrative that leans into the collections’ exclusiveness and covetability, the campaign is an appropriately glammed-up way to announce the arrival of an unprecedented and powerful partnership.
