Elsa Haddad steps into a key leadership role as the French retailer advances its modernization plans
Galeries Lafayette is continuing its leadership evolution with the appointment of Elsa Haddad as director of finance, strategy and transformation. Reporting to chief executive officer Arthur Lemoine and joining the executive committee, Haddad will guide major transformation initiatives and oversee the company’s budget as the group accelerates its modernization agenda. Her return to the strategy side of the business follows earlier roles within the retailer, including posts across merchandising and purchasing after joining the group in 2018.

Her arrival comes amid a broader reshaping of the company’s governance. Over the past several months, the retailer has elevated several executives across image, operations, and purchasing while adding new roles to support specialized divisions and cultural initiatives. As the group sharpens its omnichannel ambitions, investments remain focused on revitalizing its flagship on Boulevard Haussmann and modernizing its wider store network. With 19 directly operated locations in France and growing international expansion—from Beijing to Mumbai—the retailer is positioning itself for a more integrated, globally coherent future.
