35-piece limited-edition collection to launch Thursday, featuring a blend of classic and modern styles
Gap has teamed up with Los Angeles-based brand Cult Gaia for a special 35-piece holiday collection for women and kids, set to debut on Thursday. The collection merges Gap’s timeless styles with Cult Gaia’s artistic flair, offering a range of clothing pieces that reflect both brands’ distinctive aesthetics.
Cult Gaia, known for its iconic heirloom designs, is led by founder and CEO Jasmin Larian Hekmat. The Gap x Cult Gaia collaboration features standout pieces such as outerwear, slip dresses, denim bustiers, and leather jackets, priced between $35 and $498. The collection blends traditional designs with modern touches, like chain-link detailing and gold hardware, while incorporating luxurious fabrics. Gap’s signature arch logo is reimagined as “Gaia” on several pieces, representing the collaboration between the two brands.
Mark Breitbard, president and CEO of Gap, said, “The collection with Cult Gaia is a beautiful reimagining of Gap icons with a partner who shares our obsession for product detail.” He emphasized the focus on fabric, hardware, and stitching, creating designs meant to be cherished.
Hekmat expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, reflecting on her connection with Gap. “I grew up wearing the Gap. It’s touched so many stages of my life… I thought it would be an amazing contrast to who we are as Cult Gaia,” she shared. She highlighted pieces like the denim, leather, and faux fur coats as some of her personal favorites.
The collection is designed for everyday wear, with comfort as a priority, while also incorporating Cult Gaia’s signature architectural elements. Hekmat noted that the collaboration offers customers high-quality pieces at accessible prices, with the collection available for only six weeks in sizes 00-16 for adults and 5-14 for kids.
To promote the collection, a campaign directed by Louise and Maris Thornfeldt will be showcased across social media and Gap platforms. The collaboration is part of Gap’s broader efforts to revitalize its brand, following positive reception of previous partnerships with Dôen and Madhappy.
The Gap x Cult Gaia collection will be available online at gap.com and in select stores, launching at noon ET on Thursday. Gap cardholders can enjoy early access on Wednesday through the mobile app, with an exclusive event at Gap’s L.A. store at The Grove for local cardholders on Thursday morning.
When asked which pieces she’s most excited to wear, Hekmat, who is pregnant, joked, “I’m very pregnant, we’ll figure it out.”
