Subtitle: Nathalie Emmanuel Announced as the Global Makeup Ambassador for Giorgio Armani
British actress Nathalie Emmanuel has been appointed as the new global makeup ambassador for Giorgio Armani. She will make her debut in the brand’s Luminous Silk foundation campaign scheduled for release in January.
“What attracted me to this specific product and this specific project is I love to enhance skin and fresh-faced looks,” Emmanuel said. She prefers makeup that looks natural, not over-contoured or manipulated heavily. According to her, the Luminous Silk foundation “just sits so effortlessly and light on the skin.”
Nathalie finds the foundation easy to apply, appreciating its ability to enhance one’s natural beauty. “Then you can have fun with bright colors or eye shadow and lipstick if you want,” she added. “But my go-to starter place is very naturalistic. Armani has always had that aesthetic. It’s very subtle, but clean beauty.”
A statement from the brand reflected on the appointment, saying, “In each uniquely different role that she has embodied, her magnetic presence has captivated audiences worldwide. Nathalie Emmanuel reflects the essence of a modern femininity encapsulating Giorgio Armani’s makeup philosophy of revealing each person’s unique and inner beauty.”
Emmanuel, an Emmy and SAG award nominee, gained prominence for her role as Missandei in HBO’s Game of Thrones, appearing in the series from 2013-2019. Since then, she has joined the Fast and Furious franchise and has worked on projects such as Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Arthur the King, with a starring role in The Invitation.
Emmanuel views makeup as an essential tool for building her characters. “There might be a choice to not wear makeup, and that in itself says something about the character or the situation they’re in,” she said. This applies in life as well, with the actress identifying makeup as a source of empowerment.
She intends to use her role as an Armani ambassador to inspire individuality and self-acceptance. “In an age of social media, it’s so easy to compare yourself to everybody. There’s high and unobtainable standards. It’s really important to remember that your unique beauty is something to be celebrated and nurtured. You don’t have to look like somebody else,” Emmanuel said.
