Golden Heart Awards Celebrate 40 Years of God’s Love We Deliver

The annual New York gala raises over $4 million to support medically tailored meals for those in need

God’s Love We Deliver hosted its 19th annual Golden Heart Awards on October 20 at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York City, honoring four decades of service to individuals affected by severe and chronic illness.

The evening gathered a wide circle of supporters from the entertainment, fashion, and philanthropic communities. Guests including Anne Hathaway, Audra McDonald, Gigi Hadid, Michael Kors, and Anna Wintour attended the celebration, which featured performances, tributes, and a live auction to benefit the organization’s meal delivery programs.

Founded during the height of the AIDS crisis, God’s Love We Deliver has grown from a grassroots effort into one of New York’s leading nonprofit providers of medically tailored meals and nutrition services. The Golden Heart Awards serve as both a fundraiser and a reflection of the organization’s ongoing mission of compassion and care.

Honorees included Audra McDonald, who received the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Philanthropy, Artistry, and Activism, and Anne Hathaway, who was recognized with the Golden Heart Award for Outstanding Philanthropy and Volunteerism.

The evening’s program featured performances by Ben Platt and J. Harrison Ghee with the cast of Saturday Church. The event design was led by Raiola/Co., with Erich Bergen serving as producer and director.

In total, the gala raised over $4 million, funding more than 400,000 meals for New Yorkers in need. The organization also announced plans to expand its operations with a new distribution center at Liberty BKLYN in Sunset Park, expected to increase its meal production capacity in the years ahead.

Since its founding in 1985, God’s Love We Deliver has prepared and delivered millions of meals across the city—continuing to serve as a cornerstone of community-based care rooted in dignity, nourishment, and love.
