Review of Gucci Children’s Collection 2022 Ad Campaign by Photographer Giovanni Corabi and Art Director Alessia Glaviano with talent Maga Rao, Sergio Rao, Noah Rao, Kai Rao, Anouk Rao, Til Rao, Uma Rao, and Ryo Rao
Gucci recruits the Rao family, a tight-knit clan of two parents and six kids with roots in fashion, to star in a new campaign for the house’s latest children’s collection. The campaign features art direction by Alessia Glaviano and photography by Giovanni Corabi.
Parents Sergio and Maga Rao first met while Sergio was giving a lecture on Japanese fashion that Maga was attending for her post-graduate Master’s degree course. Fast forward to today, and the couple are happily living in Sardinia with a big family of six kids, and documenting the journey as the go.
Corabi captures the family, dressed all in Gucci, among the beautiful landscapes near their home. Dreamy, eclectic, and sophisticated, the styling fits perfectly into the photographs’ joyful mood characterized by adventure and togetherness.
It’s exciting to see Gucci recruit a real family to express the opportunities for style and connection across its entire range, no matter age or gender. The resulting mood of the campaign is also one that would have been impossible to achieve otherwise; there is a level of familiarity, honesty, and love that can only exist within a family, and that is something everyone can recognize.
