Reinforcing Sabato De Sarno’s Commitment to Pursuing the Dialog Between Art & Fashion
Gucci Prospettive reinforces Creative Director Sabato De Sarno’s commitment to pursuing and underscoring the dialog between art and fashion. The publications, in fact, will accompany each of Gucci’s collections. Stefano Collicelli Cagol, (PhD), director of the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato and former curator of the Rome Quadriennale (2018-2021), interpreted the vision for the first chapter, Gucci Prospettive n.1, Milano Ancora.
The volume is a love letter to Milan. Within, works of art cross paths with literature, music, cinema, fashion, and history, narrating fragments of the city’s cultural and artistic history from the post-war period to the present day. In a continuous relay, the artists involved recount Milan as a place of beauty and carnality and, beyond traditional narratives, imagine new spaces and new selves.
The works of Cristiano Rizzo, Martino Santori, Noura Tafeche, and Valerio Eliogabalo Torrisi, selected by Sabato De Sarno in collaboration with the Accademia di Brera among recent graduates, were included in the publication and presented in a temporary gallery in Via Fiori Chiari 5, open to the public from September 19 to 23.
