Guerlain Partners With Waldorf Astoria to Launch Flagship Spa in Manhattan

New York’s revamped landmark hotel to include spa, retail, and wellness facilities

French skincare and cosmetics company Guerlain is preparing to open its largest spa to date at the Waldorf Astoria New York, following the hotel’s extensive renovation and reopening scheduled for this spring. The Guerlain Wellness Spa is expected to begin operations in the summer.

The spa will span 30,000 square feet, taking up an entire floor of the hotel. It will include 16 treatment rooms and offer a range of services, including targeted wellness programs that last three to six months and shorter one-hour treatments for guests with limited time.

“This is going to be the largest wellness center that Guerlain has done out of their portfolio,” said Luigi Romaniello, Managing Director at Waldorf Astoria New York. “It’s going to be a true destination spa, and it’s going to be an urban escape for New Yorkers, for our residents that live with us, and also for all the guests staying with us.”

The partnership continues a prior collaboration between Guerlain and the Waldorf Astoria, though the spa has now been significantly expanded with a greater focus on wellness and longevity. The hotel will also feature three Guerlain retail boutiques located in the spa, in the main lobby, and along 50th Street.

“By partnering with Waldorf Astoria New York, we’re creating a revolutionary wellness destination featuring our Guerlain skilled experts paired with our innovative technology,” said Diane Davody, International Spa Business Director of Guerlain. “Our bespoke wellness programs are designed to provide New Yorkers, guests and residents profound renewal and total well-being for body, mind and soul.”

Wellness offerings will include services built around four central pillars: nutrition, movement, mindfulness, and sleep. “The idea is really to [have] experiences that are unforgettable, magical and truly unique to the destination,” Davody added.

Amélie Demange, Guerlain’s International Spa Aesthetic and Wellness Creation Director, emphasized that all programs, whether long-term or single-session, adhere to these pillars. The hotel will also integrate wellness into other areas of the guest experience, including a 25-meter pool, a fitness center, and programming tailored to residents. A sleep-focused bedtime ritual will also be introduced as part of the guest accommodations.

“Understanding the essence of Waldorf Astoria and then translating it into the wellness space, it was a great marriage for the both of us,” Romaniello said.
