'Faubourg Calling' Fall 2024 Ad Campaign

Review of Hermès ‘Faubourg Calling’ Fall 2024 Ad Campaign

Hermès uncovers the layered legacy of Paris with its Fall 2024 “Faubourg Calling” campaign.

The campaign’s title of course references Paris’ Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the historic street that has now come to epitomize the ideal of French luxury and high style. The imagery finds echoes between the journey along the iconic street and the journey from past into present of the house’s artisanal design.

The black-and-white shots of elegant characters traversing the Faubourg are torn away like pages ripped out of a glossy magazine, revealing colorful shots of the house’s design icons beneath, as well as streaks of its signature orange.

It’s a simple visual concept that goes a long way to sum up the character of Hermès: its history at the heart of Parisian luxury, its distinctive visual codes, its mastery of craft and the powerful physical presence of that craft. Hermès is always on point with their visual communications, finding a sense of brightness and whimsy while never losing sight of its prestige and heritage. This cleverly layered campaign is another strong example of that practice.
