The rapper unveils her molten chrome creation at the Manhattan dealership’s grand reopening
Mercedes-Benz has officially launched its new “Class of Creators” initiative, beginning with a high-profile debut by Ice Spice in New York City. The four-time Grammy-nominated artist unveiled a custom art piece based on the all-new CLA during the grand opening of the newly renovated Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan dealership.
As the first installment of a year-long, multi-creator collaboration, Ice Spice’s CLA “remix” reflects her bold signature style—complete with molten chrome finishes and nods to her “Princess of Rap” persona, including diamond-encrusted chain motifs. A capsule collection of pastel and black streetwear pieces inspired by the artwork will also launch soon.
“The all-new CLA is the leading-edge trailblazer of our portfolio—the gateway into the world of Mercedes-Benz. We are thrilled to collaborate with our ‘Class of Creators’, represented by Ice Spice, Gustaf Westman, KidSuper, League of Legends and Hot Wheels. Together, we want to connect and engage with diverse communities by inviting them to be a part of this conversation,” said Bettina Fetzer, Vice President of Digital & Communications at Mercedes-Benz AG.
The Manhattan event welcomed over 350 guests for a night of art, music, and culture, including a live set by DJ LPX and a special performance from the cast of Broadway’s Hell’s Kitchen.
The “Class of Creators” will continue with upcoming reveals by interior designer Gustaf Westman on May 22 and KidSuper’s Colm Dillane on June 28. Each collaboration aims to reimagine the CLA as a creative platform, exploring themes of identity, design, and self-expression.
