Isabel Marant Collaborates with Converse for Her First Sneaker Collection
Converse has partnered with renowned French designer Isabel Marant to launch a special capsule collection, marking Marant’s first foray into the sneaker world. The collaboration introduces a fresh take on the Chuck 70 Wedge, featuring a 2.5-inch heel, along with other variations of the Chuck 70 that blend Marant’s distinctive design elements with the iconic sneaker silhouette.
Set to launch on September 11, the collection will be available on Isabelmarant.com and in Marant’s boutiques, with a wider release through Converse’s sales channels starting September 12. The campaign, shot by Steven Meisel, aligns with the ongoing trend of Y2K-inspired fashion, particularly popular among Gen Z consumers. The collection features about 50 styles for men, 30 styles for women, along with a range of shoes and bags, all reflecting Marant’s unique aesthetic.
Marant’s designs for this collection include frayed cotton and polyester jacquard, raw-edged canvas, multi-colored laces, and translucent outsoles, offering a bohemian, slightly worn-in look that stays true to her signature style. The collaboration also highlights Converse’s recent focus on heeled sneakers, expanding its product range to meet the evolving tastes of female consumers.
This partnership comes as a natural progression for Marant, who has made a significant impact on the fashion world with her wedge sneakers, first launched in 2011. The collaboration with Converse allows her to revisit this iconic style, bringing her distinct Parisian flair to a new audience while reinforcing Converse’s presence in the fashion-forward sneaker market.
