Review of Isabel Marant Fall 2022 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Julien Gallico with Photographer Robin Galiegue with models Selena Forrest, Greta Hofer and Xu Meen
Isabel Marant shares a bold and simple new campaign for Fall 2022. The campaign features creative direction from Julien Gallico, with photography by Robin Galiegue and video direction by Suzie and Leo.
Galiegue’s studio portraits offer a straightforward look at the collection, which combines sexy minimalism via knit dresses with exaggeratedly voluminous outerwear and ornate patterns.
An accompanying short film by creative duo Suzie and Leo and featuring choreography by Ryan Chappell sees its models move expressively in super-slow motion, further expressing the bold character of the collection in its interplay of textures and juxtapositions of volume.
While the campaign does offer a clear look at the design character of the collection, particularly when it sets it in motion, it doesn’t offer much in the way of concept or narrative, and thus might be a bit forgettable. That being said, Isabel Marant has never been one for concept-heavy collections or campaigns, and this imagery does fit into the brand’s wider visual canon.
