THE COLLECTION
THE VIBE
Rocker chic. Modern vintage. Effortless cool.

When you’ve been turning out consistently strong collections for as along as Isabel Marant has (the designer’s eponymous brand turned 30 last year), a little change goes a long way. Now steering the brand in partnership with artistic director Kim Bekker, Marant has lost nothing of her ability to impressively balance an effortless, unstudied style with a luxurious sense of polish.
That’s why quietly incorporated new aesthetic references, like those incorporated seamlessly in today’s collection, feel so momentous. A nod to underground music and cultural scenes has threaded its way through the brand before, but Fall 2025 fully embraced an inspiration in the punk rock and new-wave scenes of 80s England, incorporating them deftly into its signature take on classic Parisian cool-girl chic.
The new motif that most directly captured this spirit was the use of tartan, with its place as a touchstone in punk and grunge style further brought out through the use of studded leather and the tights and mini-skirt combos. Denim and distressed knits with “piercings” furthered the aesthetic, while an occasional but cohesive use of feminine frills and lace counterbalanced the edge.
A nod to the 80s can also be felt in the pinstripe double-breasted suiting. New structural experiments were undertaken as well, like the asymmetrical tops with snap closures that feel like a riff on motorcycle jackets, or the glammed-out wrap vests.
Thoughtfully detailed styling has always been the brand’s secret weapon for taking its runway looks to the next level, and this collection was no exception. Jewelry, bags, belts, and shoes all attested to the ability to effortlessly transform a carefully curated vintage wardrobe into a distinct personal style statement.

THE DIRECTION
A sign of the brand’s continued success and ambitions for global cultural expansion, the show also marked the runway debut of K-pop star Seong Hwa. A member of the popular boy band Ateez, the singer and recently appointed brand ambassador also appeared in Isabel Marant’s Spring 2025 campaign alongside none other than Kate Moss – an emblematic pairing that symbolizes the brand’s continuing cross-generational appeal.
THE WRAP UP
Isabel Marant proves that success in fashion is a marathon, not a sprint. Incorporating new cultural references and celebrity partnerships without missing a beat or straying one step from the brand’s core vision, Fall 2025 is another step forward.
