The Men’s Line, Founded in 2021, Will Make Its Runway Debut and Be Presented via Standalone Shows
Issey Miyake has announced that it will present its IM Men collections via a runway show format at Paris Men’s Fashion Week, beginning with the upcoming Fall 2025 season in January. The line, which was originally launched in 2021 under the direction of Issey Miyake, integrates the disciplines of design and engineering, creating innovative clothing that reflects contemporary needs and sensibilities.
IM Men is spearheaded by a trio of multidisciplinary experts from Miyake Design Studio, who blend their skills in both design and engineering to forge garments that stand at the intersection of creative design and technological innovation. The team includes Sen Kawahara, Yuki Itakura, and Nobutaka Kobayashi, who are collectively focused on redefining clothing through both its form and construction. This approach advances clothing design inspired by the philosophy of starting with a single piece of cloth.
The launch of IM Men follows the success of Homme Plissé Issey Miyake, which debuted in Paris in 2019. Over the past five years, Homme Plissé has gained international acclaim, and the studio plans to continue evolving the brand with new strategies to be announced in the spring of next year.
“We are grateful for all your continued interest and support for both IM MEN and Homme Plissé Issey Miyake,” a spokesperson for the studio expressed. “We look forward to introducing to you the latest collections from the two brands.”
