The Airline Commissions Simon Porte Jacquemus to Craft Luxury Pajamas for Its First-Class Passengers
Air France has partnered with Jacquemus for an exclusive set of in-flight sleepwear. Designed by the brand’s eponymous creative director Simon Porte Jacquemus, the sleepwear collection, dubbed “Le Pyjama,” is set to be available on board from Thursday March 20 as part of a new travel experience for the airline’s La Première class.
“We are proud to partner with Maison Jacquemus and its innovative creativity to design a new loungewear set exclusively available in the La Première suites” says Fabien Pelous, the Director of Customer Experience at Air France, showcasing his enthusiasm over the collaborative effort. He goes on to stress how essential each detail is when crafting an unforgettable travel experience, and believes this collaboration contributes greatly to augmenting the time each passenger spends in the La Première cabins.
Notably, the onboard loungewear set is the first of its kind for Air France. In the past, the French airline has relied on designers like Christian Lacroix, among others, to create its crew and staff uniforms.
“Le Pyjama” is a navy-blue cotton loungewear set, sporting the airline’s winged seahorse emblem on the front and an embroidered grosgrain ribbon on the back, featuring the Jacquemus logo. Being available in both red and blue, each first class passenger gets their set in a cotton poplin pouch shaped like a pillowcase, which is fastened with Jacquemus’ round-square buttons.
The loungewear will be available in four sizes, ranging from small to extra-large, and passengers will be given the choice between a tailored fit V-neck top or a regular fit crewneck top.
This new offering is a part of Air France’s larger strategy to upscale their services and experiences. Other enhancements include Dumas Paris bedding and an amenity kit inclusive of Sisley products along with exclusive cocktails curated by mixologist Matthias Giroud.
