Fall 2024 Fashion Show

Jacquemus showed his Fall 2024 RTW Collection Fashion Show at Capri’s historic Casa Malaparte (June 2024).  The Simon Porte Jacquemus- led label celebrated its 15th year and finished with a runway appearance from BLACKPINK’s Jennie.

Private boats ferried celebrities such as Dua Lipa, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Manu Rios to Capri for Jacquemus’ 15th-anniversary runway show on Monday. The event took place at Casa Malaparte, a villa designed by architect Adalberto Libera in the 1930s, providing a striking backdrop for the brand’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection.

Simon Porte Jacquemus, the designer behind the label, shared his inspiration for the show on Instagram: “I decided to create my brand after watching Le Mépris from Jean-Luc Godard, being inspired by the beauty and modernity of his vision.” The 1963 film, which features Casa Malaparte, played a significant role in shaping Jacquemus’ vision.

Models ascended 99 steps to reach the cliffside venue, where 40 guests awaited, accompanied by a live orchestra. The first look featured a model in a towel-like robe, evoking a post-swim elegance. Grey formalwear followed, including a top paired with a teal head scarf, while vibrant blue leather bags and belts accessorized the ensuing colorful ensembles.

Semi-transparent dresses with high slits, deep-blue sweaters with broad necklines, and oversized zebra-printed Bermuda shorts showcased the nautical theme. Navy stripes appeared prominently, fitting seamlessly into the seaside setting.

Sculptural elements, a hallmark of Jacquemus’ design, were evident throughout the collection. Stiff gowns took on conical shapes, wool coats featured sharp triangular lapels, and tops bloomed like rigid sculptures around the models’ waists. Accessories such as vivid leather belts, lunchbox-shaped handbags, circular totes, and zebra loafers added to the visual impact.

The show concluded with BLACKPINK’s Jennie in a black dress and teal clutch. After the final walk, she shared a moment with Simon Porte Jacquemus, who joined her for a round of applause from the audience.

The collection presented a blend of Jacquemus’ signature styles, celebrating the brand’s 15-year journey. It was not just about the fashion, but also a testament to the brand’s influence, marketing prowess, and design excellence, captivating millions of fans and fashion enthusiasts worldwide.
