Review of Jacquemus “Jacquemousse” Holiday 2022 Ad Campaign by Creative Directors Charles Levai & Kevin Tekinel and Director Pantera with models Ingrid Fernandes, Georgina Grenville, and Mica Argañaraz
Jacquemus livens up the holidays with a clever and festive new short film, “Jacquemousse.” The Holiday 2022 campaign film features creative direction from Charles Levai and Kevin Tekinel and film direction by Pantera.
Opening on a classic interior fridge shot, the film introduces us to a rather boring Christmas gathering that sees its friends and family members sitting around in silence. The gathering quickly turns much livelier, however, when the family’s matriarch grabs a bottle of the titular Jacquemousse champagne from the fridge, and, uncorking it, accidentally initiates a chain reaction that brings some much-needed festivity to the evening. Smart cinematography and editing follows the champagne cork as it flies across the room, defying gravity and bouncing off walls, while conveniently changing the radio to a more fun song, turning the TV on to an old-school shopalong style Jacquemus ad, and ultimately destroying much of the apartment – but making everyone have a lot more fun along the way.
Though the film’s runtime is just under a minute, the expansive creative team did great work together to translate this brief and familiar moment into a cinematic joyride full of thoughtful details and fun moments. Overcoming holiday blues through the power of French cinema and joie de vivre, Jacquemus puts its signature playful elegance to work in rekindling the joy of togetherness.
