Review of Jacquemus “Le Mariage” Spring 2024 Ad Campaign by Photographer Oliver Hadlee Pearch
Jacquemus celebrates eternal love the only way it knows how – very chicly. The brand’s freshly launched bridal collection was lensed in the colorful and classic campaign by photographer Oliver Hadlee Pearch.
The narrative follows the story of beautiful beachside weddings, where glowing brides beam in the Riviera sunshine and bridesmaids in matching sun hats make heartfelt toasts. Pearch’s poised compositions draw out from the coordinating ensembles that blend bridal style and vacation ease a playful yet elegant sense of rhythm.
The accompanying short film clever centers around the tradition of tossing the bouquet: vibrant cinematography focuses on eager faces and falling flowers as the crowd vies to be next in line – but an unexpected winner comes out on top.
While the ritzy French riviera style pretty much nails exactly what we would expect from a Jacquemus bridal campaign, what feels most exciting and surprising about the campaign is its casting. You don’t see a lot of bridal campaigns champion older brides or queer couples, but here the inclusive casting is effortless and beautiful, exuding the energy of real families and real couples whose life effortlessly echoes a fashion fantasy.
