The Bond Street Store is the OTB-Owned Brand’s First Standalone Location in the U.K.
Jil Sander has opened its first standalone storefront in the U.K. on London’s Bond Street. The brand’s co-creative directors, Lucie and Luke Meier, hosted a cocktail reception to commemorate the occasion.
Created in collaboration with architecture firm Casper Mueller Kneer, the 1,600-square-foot, split-level space exudes calm sophistication with its silver-blue travertine covering, monochrome marble blocks, brass elements, and timber pieces. Lucie and Luke Meier shared their vision, stating, “We aim to create spaces where you feel at ease, where the first thing you sense is an atmosphere, rather than an architecture.”
The store is located at 134 Bond Street, neighboring Church’s and Brunello Cucinelli, and facing Loewe and Celine. The store offers a curated collection encompassing women’s and men’s runway and pre-collections across ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, and accessories.
Luca Lo Curzio, Jil Sander’s CEO since June of the previous year, emphasized the significance of London as a pivotal market for the brand. Opening on Bond Street was deemed “a natural evolution in the brand’s retail expansion, and the perfect context to debut our new store concept.” He further explained, “The architecture, created in collaboration with CMK, reinforces the brand’s approach to design defined by deliberation, rigor, and artistry, which has made Jil Sander a unique reference for modern luxury.”
The store launch event on Wednesday night featured a star-studded guest list, including British DJ Benji B, photographer Nikolai von Bismarck, “The Witcher” star Anna Shaffer, model Anna Cleveland, and India Rose James, granddaughter of the late Soho Estates property magnate and porn publisher Paul Raymond. OTB founder Renzo Rosso was also present to celebrate the momentous occasion.
As of 2024, the OTB-owned Jil Sander operates 64 boutiques globally, with a substantial presence in Japan and China. The brand is available in over 300 select multi-brand retailers worldwide. In the United Kingdom, Jil Sander is also represented at Harvey Nichols, Harrods, and Dover Street Market.
