Kering Taps Daniele Zito as Chief Commercial Officer – A Newly Created Post

Daniele Zito Named Chief Commercial Officer at Kering Amid Executive Restructuring

Kering has announced the appointment of Daniele Zito as its chief commercial officer, a newly established role effective immediately. Zito previously served as president of Gucci Japan.

The company confirmed Zito’s new position on Tuesday, outlining that he will be “responsible for defining the group’s commercial strategy across our retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels.”

According to Kering, “By collaborating closely with each of our houses, he will focus on leveraging existing best practices and building synergies that drive value and promote operational excellence throughout our retail operations.” The company further noted, “Zito brings a wealth of strategic and operational experience from his six years at Bain & Company and nine years at Gucci, including his last five years as president of Gucci Japan.”

Zito graduated in management from Milan’s Bocconi University in 2010. As stated in his LinkedIn profile, he initially joined Gucci as worldwide retail outlet director.

Kering will conduct capital market events in Florence on April 15 and 16, featuring guided tours, social gatherings, and presentations, with a strategic address from chief executive officer Luca de Meo set as the primary focus.

Luca de Meo, who formerly led Renault Group, is anticipated to provide details aimed at positioning Kering as a more competitive force in the luxury market. The market continues to experience subdued consumer demand, concerns over “greedflation,” and broader economic uncertainty.

De Meo’s experience includes overseeing Renault for five years and holding roles in several automotive brands such as Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Seat. Since joining Kering in September, he has added multiple former colleagues to the company, including HR specialist Thomas Cuntz as global talent development and people engagement head, and Giovanni Perosino as senior vice president, marketing, at Gucci.
