Review of Kith Fall 2024 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Ronnie Fieg with Talent Wesley Snipes
Kith continues its playful practice of cinematic meta-narrative with its Fall 2024 campaign starring inimitable icon Wesley Snipes.
While Snipes is probably best known for his role as the extremely stylish titular vampire hunter of the Blade movies, the campaign offers a very different perspective, playing off the tension of public and private persona as it finds the star pursuing a life of rest and relaxation amid a gorgeous countryside locale.
The film opens with Snipes ignoring another call from his agent, who implores the actor to come back to Hollywood. Instead, he does just the opposite, continuing his life of solitary bliss. He practices tai chi, goes birdwatching, sips fine wine on a solo picnic, paints, reads.
The campaign is another smart extension of Kith’s consistent formula of working with veteran Hollywood talents (which have included Jerry Seinfeld, Bryan Cranston, and Steve Buscemi just to name a few) who would perhaps not expect to star in a fashion campaign, yet end up perfectly embodying the brand’s flavor of charming, pop-culture-attuned luxury streetwear – not to mention the huge dose of internet buzz that each of these casting choices bring.
