KNWLS Joins Forces with Jean Paul Gaultier for Collaborative Collection

Jean Paul Gaultier Joins Forces with KNWLS for Innovative Ready-to-Wear Line

Renowned fashion icon Jean Paul Gaultier is embarking on an exciting collaboration with London-based label KNWLS to introduce a fresh ready-to-wear collection slated for release later this year.

KNWLS, originating from South London in 2017, was founded by Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault, shortly after they graduated from Central Saint Martins. The brand champions a disruptive vision of femininity, embodying a blend of danger and sensuality. Their collaborative vision encapsulates an empowered wardrobe tailored for the digital age. Recognized for their experimental body-con designs that redefine silhouettes, edgy textures, and bold prints, KNWLS presents an alternative take on sensuality, exploring the empowerment of future femininity.

We wanted to find that world in between that feels very KNWLS and very Jean Paul Gaultier at the same time. It feels like it could be part of the Jean Paul Gaultier archive already — but also the KNWLS archive.

Comprising 40 items, including tops, jackets, pants, and dresses, this collection aims to harmoniously fuse the shared passions of both labels, drawing inspiration from punk and print themes. Scheduled to debut in September, the collaborative line will be unveiled following a celebratory launch event at New York Fashion Week. Additionally, KNWLS plans to feature select looks from this collection in its runway show in September.

Having gained prominence for its futuristic aesthetics and figure-flattering designs, KNWLS emerged in South London in 2017. The alliance between the label and Jean Paul Gaultier isn’t their initial collaboration, as Jean Paul Gaultier’s creative director, Florence Tétier, previously designed a range of jewelry for a KNWLS showcase.

Tétier shared, “Their world is really connected to the legacy of Jean Paul Gaultier, and it made total sense to give birth to this collection inspired by the very specific vision of the women’s body both brands have.”

Mark your calendars for the eagerly anticipated release of the collaborative collection on September 8th. Stay tuned for further updates and details.
